Field visits to enterprises within the framework of the Erasmus+ program of the UnWaste project

On October 20, 2023, a visiting lesson was organized and conducted at Kostanay Regional University by A.I. Ogarkova, a teacher of the Department of Mathematics and Physics, as part of the implementation of the international Erasmus + “UnWaste” projects.

The class was held with 2nd year Master's students of the OP 7M05201-"Geoecology and Nature Management", and first/second year students of 7M07102 "Electric Power Engineering", in the disciplines "Rational Energy Use of Production Waste and Energy Saving" and "Modern Energy Problems"

The discipline of the educational program 7M05201-Geoecology and Nature Management was developed as a result of the implementation of the project objectives, and provides for a project-based teaching method, in which master's students develop scientific and innovative projects based on the assignment of specific enterprises.

The field training at the Allur plant (Kostanay) was held with the invitation of the speaker - Shadrina Dinara Bostanovna, who is a well-known entrepreneur, a member of the association of social innovators, as well as with the invitation of specialists from the enterprise's services.

Dinara Bostanovna held a seminar-training on the topic of waste management, shared her entrepreneurial experience, and also demonstrated her eco-products.

The graduate students expressed their gratitude to the organizers and Dianra Shadrina for a good and informative master class and expressed hope for further meetings.

After this, specialists from the production held a meeting with the graduate students and the teacher, where they determined the topics of future projects, which are based on solving the problems of the enterprise in processing industrial waste.

These classes, using the project-based method of on-the-job training, help to increase the effectiveness of the learning process for master's students, develop research skills, strengthen the personally oriented approaches to educational procedures, theoretical analysis of scientific literature, and generalization of research results.

Integration of education and production within the framework of the Erasmus + UnWaste project at the KRU named after A. Baitursynov

On December 27, 2023, at the Kostanay Allur plant, master's students of the educational program "7M05201-Geoecology and Nature Management" successfully defended their projects on the topic of "Management and recycling of industrial waste" as part of the Erasmus + project task Advancing circular economy in partner countries by development and implementation of Master's program "Waste management" / (UnWaste).

During the entire course of the discipline "Rational energy use of production waste and energy saving" the master's students studied a number of cases on waste management, under the guidance of Ph.D., head of the Department of "Electric Power Engineering" Koshkin I.V. and teacher of the Department of Mathematics and Physics Ogarkova A.I. After theoretical training, the master's students began practical activities, implementing the acquired knowledge in solving problems of real production.

At the Allur plant, the graduate students studied three topics: recycling wood waste, paper, and polyethylene. Organizational support for the graduate students' research was provided by Saniya Imentaeva, Head of the Higher Engineering School, Allur University specialist Bakyttyzhuldyz Bayanbaeva, and the head of Allur University Olkinyan Lyudmila Yuryevna. In addition, technical and information support was provided by the Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Service of the Allur plant, Agdavletov Erbolat Satybaldinovich, and environmental engineer Saparbekova Amina Serikovna.

As a result, the graduate students proposed and successfully defended original solutions within the framework of the project’s tasks, which were enthusiastically supported by specialists from the plant and Allur University.

All participants expressed the opinion that involving students of higher education institutions in project and research activities based on specific enterprises and industries allows for the formation of general cultural competencies and the acquisition of new knowledge in the field of design, allows for the learning of how to correctly formulate a project concept, generate innovative solutions, and master the scientific foundations and methods of technology transfer.
